Subaru needed a new creative agency to provide fresh new ideas to extend their market reach. The scope entailed creative work for news and magazine ads, radio scripts, billboards, and in-store collaterals and murals, amongst others. They also needed an agency who understood digital experiences with digital plans, and to be more active than before.

 

Through our collaboration with Subaru, the scope would eventually grow to creating and designing static and interactive banners for their digital media buy, and identifying opportunities to grow Subaru’s presence digitally.

 

The work included our own creative concepts, as well as adaptations of regional works for the local market.

Establishing consistent brand messaging

Our first plan of action was to work with Subaru’s marketing team to establish a consistent message and create a year-long communication plan to ensure the brand messaging is consistent across all platforms.

 

In addition, we established the unique selling point needed to drive interest with potential customers, which was established as promoting “Safety”. This also helped us stay away from the common association between the Subaru brand and other rally cars. This resulted in the creation of a series of ads, billboards, campaign & event collaterals, radio ads, and more.

Ever-growing market share

After a single year of being Subaru Malaysia’s lead creative agency, Subaru’s sales have increased by 52% from the previous year and has continued growing year-on-year.
