Creating the digital experience of a challenger media publisher
Client
MI3 Publishing Platform
What we did
Design Sprint | Digital Strategy | UX / UI | Platform Selection | Front End Development | Back-end Development | Drupal Implementation | Drupal CMS training
Envisioned as a new, leading edge digital publication for the media industry, Mi-3 was born out of a desire to address some of the challenges in the Australian media landscape. To bring the vision to life, the team at Mi-3 partnered with Aleph to first imagine and then craft the Mi-3 digital experience.

Distinguishing offerings in Australia
We started with a design sprint where the Mi-3 team moved rapidly from their initial vision to a working prototype that we could validate with real-world customers.
Our team then iterated and evolved the design, moving into technology planning and design, where we focused on creating a highly usable, visually engaging and beautiful digital publication. This allowed the Mi-3 team to distinguish their offering in the Australian media landscape.
Drupal was the chosen CMS platform as it was open source and offered an intuitive way for publishers like Mi-3 to use the platform. By implementing Drupal 8, Mi-3 was able to create and manage natively responsive content, integrate them with advertising partners and seamlessly manage email campaigns and newsletters using a dynamic ‘publish once’ approach.
Agile ways of working
Within 8 weeks, we took Mi-3 team’s vision through an agile, customer-centric process, including rigorous testing, design, development and implementation and training with Drupal 8 CMS.
Through agile design sprints and support from our international teams, we were able to deliver a project that was far more cost-effective.
