Role description

Aleph Singapore’s delivery has grown in recent years and we are strategising on building a Delivery Management within the organisation. The Delivery Management manages projects from kick-off to delivery on time, on budget, and on brief. It is everyone’s go-to place for the project. Clients and internal team members rely on you for everything they need to know about a project; what to expect, what to do next, and where they need to be. Equally as important is the commercial value of what the department delivers; both top line revenue and the profit that the work is delivering.

The Head of Delivery is responsible for setting strategic direction for delivery management, defining and implementing standards and processes, managing the team across a broad portfolio of accounts, and successfully implementing recovery for project crisis situations. You will have a fascination in all things digital. You want to know how things work and you are always on the look-out for new tools, services and ways of doing things.

You will have a proven ability to successfully deliver the largest projects/programmes. You have strong consulting skills and you build strong relationships with both clients and all parts of the business agency to define viable approaches/methodologies in line with relevant industry standards and best practices.

You will represent the delivery team within the business and ensure their views are made clear to the executive management team. You will ensure the individuals within delivery management are aligned and function as a team.

Attitude is every bit as important as skills and experience. You will bring an energy and passion to the role that inspires those in the department and within the wider agency. You need to be a fantastic communicator both internally and with clients and other stakeholders.

Key responsibilites

Day to day management of delivery teams across Aleph projects
Provide delivery updates at the weekly Management & Leadership team meeting
Represent the delivery team at a management level including at regular management meetings
Review and help develop high value and/or high risk project delivery proposals, scopes and plans to ensure their viability
Seek to maximise revenue and margin across multiple projects/accounts through project delivery (profit margin)
Hold responsibility for project milestones and have a tight tracking of project sign-offs
Hold responsibility for the quality of the project deliverables and communications across delivery
Work closely with the Creative and Engineering directors in solutioning ideas, ways of working, project delivery activities and adhere to process for new and existing projects
Demonstrate understanding of people management and plan resource allocation of lean agile teams across multiple projects
Conduct timely, fair and accurate project reviews for direct reports, using the standard templates, where appropriate
Explain Aleph’s service DNA, business focus, targets and guidelines, and provide clarity about the implications of these for the project management team and the individuals in it
Draw on client experiences and external trends to advise others on how to best meet our clients’ current and future needs
Support the business team to help make the best of new business opportunities

Prerequisites

Extensive experience managing projects for blue-chip firms/clients, fintech industries, including projects in a web, mobile and digital consulting environment
Demonstrable experience managing a large team of project and delivery managers
Experience developing project plans using JIRA, Trello, and/or Agile and hybrid project methodologies
Multiple examples of managing successful creative and technology projects
Evidence of management of project teams of 50 people or more to successful conclusion
Top class communication skills including strong presentation skills
Managed relationships at a senior level within large corporations
Proven client management abilities to negotiate scope and finances
Experience of crisis management situations and/or war rooms with positive results
Proven organisational skills combined with very strong meeting facilitation skills
Ability to run client workshops of up to 20 people on multiple subject areas
Can articulate Project Management methodology – processes, practices, controls, team management, project delivery phases
Business process orientation
Ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities
Self-starter and self-learner, with an ability to motivate others
People oriented with a focus on mentoring
In-depth understanding of agency finance models and operations
Experience with managing physical and hybrid teams
